Donald Trump, the US President, is going to be replaced soon by Joe Bidden. It looks like he is not happy with the decision at all but he can’t do anything about this. Earlier, on wednesday, his account was suspended temporarily but on friday, Twitter suspended his account PERMANENTLY.

    What’s the reason behind this?
Twitter has cleared it’s intention to suspend Trump’s Twitter account. The reason that they gave is to avoid risk of further incitement of violence.
Actually, on Wednesday, thousands of Trump’s supporters had stormed the Capitol building and even clashed with police. 5 people, including a police officer lost their lives.
Immediately after the incident took place, Twitter suspended Trump’s account for 12 hours. Earlier, Facebook and Instagram had already suspended his account till inauguration of new President. YouTube also removed few videos of Trump which showed his encouragement to his supporters.
On Friday, Trump posted two tweets. “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!” After few hours, he tweeted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20.”
Twitter predicted that these tweets might be a sign to Trump’s supporters and may lead to broader events. The use of the word ‘American Patriots’ in the tweet can be interpreted as support to those who want to incite violence.

    Several leaders react
As soon as people got to know about Twitter’s action, they started defending Trump. Some people from India are referring this action to be a threat to democracy. BJP MP Tejasvi Surya tweeted that the big tech companies like Twitter are a big threat to our democracy. If they can do so to POTUS, they can do this to us too.
U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson and Ms. Haley opposed the Twitter’s move. “You want to ban @realDonaldTrump, fine you’re a private company, but @Twitter deleting the President’s account which highlights this admin & its history is wrong. @Facebook & @instagram banning all images from the Capitol riot is a dangerous precedent to set. We aren’t in China,” he tweeted.
