The test match between India and England will begin on Feb 9, 2021. BCCI announced the official test squad on 19 January 2021. There are a few changes in the Indian team this time. Keeping the pandemic in view, 18 members are selected this time instead of 16 members.

The squad for the first two matches is Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-Captain), Rishabh Pant (Wicket Keeper), Wriddhiman Saha (Wicket Keeper), Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel.

    The predicted Batting League

We might have Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill as openers. Rohit and Gill performed did a fine job as an opening pair. There are chances that Kohli might wish to continue with the same duo. After the openers, we might see the Captain, the Vice-Captain, Rishabh Pant(wicket-keeper) and Cheteshwar Pujara as the middle order players.

Kohli was not there in the test match of India and Australia. He was on his paternity leave. But now he will join the Test match against England, as a Captain. However, Ravindra Jadeja won’t be a part of this test series. Therefore Washington Sundar will likely hold his position.

    The predicted Bowlers

The Indian Team is likely to have the three fast bowlers in the match. In Chennai, the English batsmen might struggle against spin balls. There are chances that Bumrah will skip the 1st test because of his abdominal injury. So in that case, the three pace bowlers could be Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see the performance of Team India against the English side. Let’s see which player will be included in the playing XI team.
