Amid speculations over Rajinikanth’s entry into politics, fans of the actor gathered today in Trichy, hopeful of a positive signal from their icon. The public meeting is being seen as a trial balloon for his big political plunge.
Tamilaruvimanian, the Gandhian who’s organizing the event said, “I will explain Rajini’s brand of politics and his agenda and take back fans’ expectations to Rajini”. As per reports, Rajinikanth has a clear agenda which is interlinking all rivers of Southern India, corruption-free state, transparent and good governance.
Amit Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party national president asked the 66-year old actor to join his outfit after which the speculations have been going on. Later, Shah made it clear that he wants people with a clean heart to join politics.
Recently, Poonam Mahajan, the Yuva Morcha national president of the saffron party visited the veteran actor at his residence. But the BJP clarified by saying visit of Mahajan was not political in nature and shouldn’t be equated to politics by all means. Also, the superstar attended a meeting organised by DMK in Chennai recently.
There were rumours that he might form his own party. “To change the corrupt and settled rotten system in the DNA of politics we all must come together,” Rajnikanth had said.
However, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy wasn’t happy with the speculations of Rajinikanth joining politics as he found the latter unfit who lack basic knowledge of politics.
Rajinikanth has been giving out mixed signals. In May, he said, “If God wills it, I will enter politics tomorrow.”
Recently, Rajinikanth had also attended a meeting organised by the state’s main opposition party, the DMK.
The actor, way back in 1996 had said that Even Lord cannot save Tamil Nadu if Jayalalithaa is elected to run the state again and this big statement helped Karunanidhi’s DMK in alliance with Mamata Banerjee’s TMC sweep elections. Later he called it a big mistake. He managed to stay away from politics even after being a neighbour of late Jayalalithaa at Poes garden in Chennai.
Tamilaruvi Manian today emphasized that Rajinikanth would not be a part of BJP or a coalition in which the BJP had an upper hand.
Will Rajinikanth join BJP? Time shall tell.
