BJP swept the Gujarat and Vidhan Sabha elections with utmost ease. PM Narendra Modi once again played an important role in the campaigning and once again BJP rode on his image to win the elections. After the declaration of result, prominent BJP leaders including PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah delivered Victory speech at BJP Headquarter in Delhi.
Party president was elated and said that BJP will form Governments in both the states and rejected that Congress gave BJP a close fight. Shah said “victory of performance and development against political dynasty.”
“We won comfortably, increased our vote share. It was not a close contest at all. This is a lesson to the parties which indulge in caste-politics and dynasty.” said BJP president
Amit Shah said that two-third lead in Himachal Pradesh point towards people of Himachal wanting to join PM Modi’s “Journey to Development”
PM Modi also hailed the leaders and workers in Gujarat saying that it was their work which has carried forward work done by him as the state’s Chief Minister.
“For me, Gujarat polls are a matter of double happiness. I am so happy that after I left the state, my colleagues there continued the good work,” PM Modi said. “Coming to power for the sixth time is a special feat, in this day and age, for a party to keep winning for so long, is historic.” said the Prime Minister.
Narendra Modi also attacked the opposition and said that opposition tried “all sort of conspiracies” but it was BJP which stood victorious in the end.
“So many conspiracies were hatched in Gujarat by Congress. A lot of misinformation was being spread. But people cannot bear if anyone makes fun of development,” said PM Modi.
PM Modi further stated that the victory itself talks volumes about how people have accepted the recent reform brought by BJP government and result is a perfect proof of it.
“During UP elections it was said BJP will lose due to GST effect in urban areas, same was said in Gujarat elections and local body polls in Maharashtra. But recent elections results have proved that the country is ready for reform, is looking towards things that perform in a positive way and believes in transformation,” stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
