Alleged Bajrang Dal activists are now centre of the news. They are accused of beating up three men by ganging against them. All the beating and the ill-reasoning is based upon suspicion of transport of cow meat.
The incident happened in Ranisagar area of Shahpur in Bhojpur district on National Highway 84.
The alleged group also tried to set the vehicle on fire but police reached the spot and foiled it. Later, the group blocked the Ara-Buxar road, demanding action against the three men. Officials had to rush-in to control the situation.
The police took the three into custody.
“A truck was intercepted by locals on the suspicion that it was carrying beef, we’ve seized the truck and arrested three persons in this regard and further investigation is on”, said Daya Shankar, a senior police official.
It is said that the truck driver told the police that they were carrying only buffalo meat.
This heated moment was greeted with both hands by Rashtriya Janata Dal. As one of the RJD leader blamed the newly formed BPJ-JD(U) government for the incident. “With the BJP government coming to power, such incidents of cow vigilantes and mob lynching will be a regular affair in the State,” he said.
