Samajwadi Party Leader and Member of Parliament Naresh Agrawal delivered a controversial statement on Wednesday when he justified the way Kulbhushan Jadhav has been treated by Pakistan and said if Jadhav is considered to be a terrorist by Pakistan Government he would be treated naturally in that way.
“A country’s policies should be left to the country. If they (Pakistan) consider Kulbhushan Jadhav to be a terrorist, they will treat him accordingly. Even we should treat terrorists strictly in our country. And I don’t understand why the media is focusing on Kulbhushan Jadhav. There are many Indians in Pakistani jails. I don’t understand why we don’t talk about all of them,” ANI quoted Naresh Agrawal.
As expected the Statement got attacking responses from other leaders and BJP Leader Subramaniam Swamy was the first to attack SP Leader asking for an apology from him over his remarks.
Parliament Affairs Min should introduce resolution seeking Mr Naresh Agrawal’s apology to the house & deep regret, if he refuses we should move motion to examine whether his conduct is not befitting that of an MP & therefore his membership should be terminated: Subramaniam Swamy of BJP
Soon SP leader realized that he had said something wrong and said that his statement was interpreted in a wrong way and he ‘meant to say something else’.
“We should treat Pakistani spies and terrorists in Indian jails the same way Indians in Pakistani jails are treated,” ANI quoted SP Leader’s clarification.
The statement came to a couple of days after Kulbhushan Jadhav met his Mother and wife and there were questions related to the way Jadhav has been treated under the custody of Pakistan government.
