When was the last time you saw a lot of controversies related to a film? It must not be very long ago. Here in India movies get the most of their publicity through controversies themselves. It is very hard to recall name of a movie which was always in news due to controversy and still did not turn up as a commercial success on box office. Just an Indian thing. Isn’t it? Padmavati, a movie by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in news ever since it was in the shooting phase and as the time progressed the rage only increased and things got more and more complicated.
Peoples who are really leading the charge against the movie Padmavati are coming with attractive bounties for those who happen to behead Deepika Padukone or Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Government has been silent on the matter and no responsible actions have been taken on its part to ensure that situation is under control. While people are free to have their own set of opinion and are free to express them but they must ensure that they never ever cross the limits. Threatening to behead someone just because you have different set of opinions is very dismaying.
People are bound to have their own set of religious sentiments but it is saddening to see people making out a matter of almost nothing. Problems that Karni Sena(Group opposing the movie) stated is regarding the dream scene of Allaudin Khilji where Rani Padmavati is seen romancing with him. One other scene that was objected was the one when Rani Padmavati was dancing (Ghoomar song) in front of a crowd because it is believed that Rani Padmavati was refrained from showing her face. It is alright for people to show dissatisfaction but it is not at all acceptable if this dissatisfaction is taking form of extremely violent and life threatening actions.
