Former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee turned 93 today. As he turned 93 he is the oldest living former Prime Minister. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first ever non-Congress Prime Minister to complete the five-year term. A Powerful personality, An influential orator, He was more than just an ordinary politician.
Right from getting arrested for the revolutionary great India Movement in 1942, to being the Prime Minister for three non-consecutive terms between 1998 and 2004, Atal Bihari Vajpayee has had a 5-decade long political career. One who was always got all the respect from the opposition whether it was his ruling tenure of 6 years or when he was in the opposition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the occasion “Birthday greetings to our beloved Atal Ji. His phenomenal as well as visionary leadership made India more developed and further raised our prestige at the world stage. I pray for his good health.”
President Ramnath Kovind also wished the former statesman on twitter “Birthday wishes to our much-loved and respected former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” he tweeted.
President office announced that the former Prime Minister would be awarded India’s highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna. He was awarded the highest civilian honour on 27 March 2015 in his residence.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee is suffering from a number of complicated diseases, which have deprived him of regular actions like speaking, walking and even expressing facially. Not many BJP leaders visit the former Prime Minister regularly. BJP Veteran leader who is close to Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the only one who meets him regularly.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was someone who did never compromise on the principles. For him, principles had a hierarchy higher than anything else. Many people believe that BJP in modern days is certainly not going on his principles.
